December 2025 was a rather bad plot twist

Every time I am reminded of this place, I’m always clueless as how to start writing again. What should my first word be after a year of hiatus? Surprisingly, even so this place has its special place deep in my heart.

I have missed writing so much. I have however, tried overcoming this feeling by writing on X (formerly known as Twitter) & also Instagram's posts just to commemorate the moments I had in Japan. Glad X was no longer the "it" place this time around so I feel more free of updating my genuine feelings without feeling scared of judgements there (not that I have many followers, coughs). Still though, one of my 2026 resolutions is to live a low key life & to spend more time in private settings.

Anyways, 2025 has been a lot.

The start of the year my husband & I were just casually talking about buying a house, thinking we would spend the year searching for one. Before we knew it, we ended up purchasing one during March. We bought a Sub-sale  house, very near to my parents'. Not going to lie, buying a leasehold sub-sale house got me doubt my decision every single time but I guess this kind of opportunity did not come many times. Fast forward, this year we should properly settle in & due to leave our 3 years of rental home - the end of an era.

Next thing that happened last year worthy of writing was, our honeymoon trip to Japan on November! There are so many things I want to write about our trip. Starting from the fact that we were very short on budget to spending so much. Our initial 7 days 6 nights trip turned 11 days 10 nights. Allah is Gracious. Indeed, He lets this happened & we're grateful for it.

We booked our flight tickets at the Matta Fair on April. Soon after we purchased a second hand Fujifilm camera because we wanted GOOD pictures of us taken while we were there - Definitely, one of our best purchase of 2025. Other months were spent on curating my Fall outfits which I purchased specifically from Mango, Uniqlo & Universal Traveler to match Japan aesthetic. I was so so excited! I told my husband that this moment is many levels up from my Korea trip 5 years ago. Five years ago, I could only borrow my mother's winter clothes. Now I purchased a brand new outfits all from my hard earned money. Truly a dream come true. The travel stories is EVEN BETTER. I mean better is an understatement. Shall we save that for later?

We ended our November in Japan & before I knew it, comes the plot twist in December. The baggage of which I still carry even if it's already 3rd of January 2026.

... and the same has been let go. I continued writing this chapter on 26.07.2026, believing that whatever's written last year was Allah's ways to humble me down and that there are more rezq that he will bestowed upon me, at the right time. I just have to have faith in Him, the Best of Planners. May Allah always always will ease my husband and I affairs in this Dunya & Akhirah.

Lots of Love, Nurzafira Sabrina.

MARRIED LIFE

 Honestly married life was fun.

I am blessed with a husband who's kind enough to help me do house chores when I am busy with my syariah studies (which is not fun at all but that's for another story). He would also help me cook for tomorrow's lunch so I could save money to buy a brand new gold bracelet hehe and do the laundry on the weekend.

Couldn't have made life without my husbaby honestly.

As at 12.07.2023, 10.50 p.m. he was sitting beside me talking about his friend's hotwheels as he just finished goreng ayam and masak nasi for my lunch and I was supposed to finish up my assignment but here I am, procrastinating.

Thank you and I love you ab sayang.

I AM GETTING MARRIED - BRIDEZILLA MODE ON!

Quick update just because I feel so overwhelm with life.

There are just so so so many things to think of that I couldn't sleep well last night. Now I am at the office, like a true zombie. It's only 9, guys! Anyways, let me dump my thoughts over here so I could be a little at peace- I am getting married next year yay ok but now do I need bridesmaid? RM1000.00 to spend on bridesmaid attire only oh my oh no.What my goodie bags should be- Glass, spoon and fork, basic cookies, homemade choc?! How about our honeymoon? when, where, wait hol' up do we even have extra money for that?! Not to mention, though I have booked my wedding planner and solemnization attire, I have no idea how everything's going to look like because most of the meet ups will be done reaching the end of October.

I know you guys probably be thinking "Calm down. Chill. You still have 3 more months to prep for everything" but dang... How can I...when Syafiq's reception/Majlis Sambut Menantu which would be done after my reception (late January 2023) already started asking us about our preferred wedding dress, foods, and invitation cards. I mean WHAT THE ACTUAL EFF IS HAPPENING my side hasn't even started how am I supposed to make decision for guy's side?! Gila.

I swear nothing has been easy for the last two months. A lot of fights, arguments and disagreements happened. A lot of them but we need to persevere aite? I loathe this kind of moments mainly because of the anxiety and adrenaline rush that comes together. It kept me awake at night, overthinking about a one day event that have yet to happen in the future. Truly sucking out the energy in me (also money because we are broke af).

Also because the commitments that come once I get married is making me crazy. Now, we have cars, house, bills, foods to pay and what economy decided that yay it's the right time to have inflation. With OPR rate rising like it's a monthly thing now. I guess I am gonna melt myself here. Ugh you know, I wanted everything to be perfect but some things are not achievable because everything is crazy expensive these days. so yes. This is my mid-life crisis. It's (once again) crazy.

So here I am back at here because this has always been and forever will be my comfort place. I might not be here often but god knows how I miss writing. (waiting for 5.30 p.m. so I can go home now hehe).

I think that is all. Until next time peeps.

Lots of Love, Nurzafira Sabrina.

late- cherry on top of cupcake

It's been almost a year since I last write here. I was talking to my therapist the other day when she explained to me about sleep hygiene activities and one of them is journaling. Instantly I thought of this blog.

so.... I guess that's the first update of the year - I am meeting a therapist! Hahaha. I am on my second session already and I wish to continue attending every once a month for my own mental health.

Also by God's Grace, I have officially graduated and called to the bar too! After 6 months of being unemployed, attending a lot of interviews, I finally landed a job as a full-time conveyancing lawyer or as people called it- "lawyer rumah". Another surreal moment, I now have a stamp with my own name and Advocate & Solicitors beneath it, my full name on the cover letter and my own card???? Can you freaking believe that? This girl whom has no clue of what she's doing for 5 freaking years, finally a lawyer, like a legit lawyer?! I am sure I made Abah and Mama proud this time.

Did I tell you I got engaged on 20th of November 2021 to the same guy I wrote about a year ago?

....

Dang. Everything, last year and not a single update here? I know right?

2020-2021 was the year God wanted me to learn about the reality of life after being in a controlled environment my whole life. I met a lot of people with different background and stories. Life previously was plain white papers with little dots of black turned to the color of gray and to a point it became black as a whole. I am glad I have my family, my friends and most importantly myself to pull me out of the darkness I was experiencing. But that what made you mature enough to face life right? Unlike movies and fairytales, life is more than just rainbows and sunshine. There will be heavy rains, storm and thunder, sometimes hurricane- but with God wills, it will all pass. All it takes is your determination to fight it and don't forget to do it for you.

Though I was still very much affected with things that happened last year, I decided to do 2022 differently than I ever did previously and that include: thinking before deciding and be determined enough to do what is good for me.

Cheers to 2022, also let's hope I will journal more here (no promises).

Lots of Love, Nurzafira Sabrina.

Duo Travel | Day 2 | Seoul, Korea | Part I

Hello! Salam Aidiladha peeps! I'm back and I'm in the mood to write about my long postponed Korea trip. I miss being outdoor so much. It has been almost two months keeping myself indoor because I don't want to be exposed to the virus but the cases, god it feels as if we are truly hopeless. Short life update: I haven't even filed my chambering papers = I am not yet a lawyer because I didn't have the pass (MITI letter) to travel to KL tsk.

Anyways, instead of writing all specific events that's happening one and a half year ago (lol @ my procrastinate self) I think I would do photo dump instead and maybe (I said, maybe) I would highlight some parts which I still remember happening. Otherwise... Well. You still got to enjoy the pictures at least. Or you can also head to my youtube channel because I created a video about my first travel experience (pls subscribe and comments also oki!).

Elysian Skii House

look at our excited face. :')

The time while we were here is spain without the word S. It was our first time and there was literally no one to guide us. We just slide through every slopes there is hoping that we wouldn't bump into anybody. I even shouted out loud "EXCUSE ME, I AM SORRY" in public because I was scared I am going to knock some innocent Koreans. But my first slide was hella fun! Still remember how I just pushed my body and slide the first slope like a wind, I was.

We had our first bad experience here too. It was during this lifting moment which was supposed to carry us down using this machine:

Aisyah and I literally had no idea we were supposed to naik and turun of the lifting OURSELVES. I'm going to explain in Bahasa now because I think I would describe the experience clearer that way.

So long story short: Masa kitaorang nak naik that lifting machine untuk turun ke bawah (sebab tak reti nak ski naik ke atas), kitaorang kena naik lifting machine ini sendiri. Cuba bayangkan dengan alatan ski yang terdiri helm (macam kasut), papan ski dan tongkat ski (lol I google-d these words), kitaorang jalan terkedek-kedek dekat lifting machine tu supaya dapat turun ke bawah. Tapi Alhamdulillah, proses nak naik tak sesusah nak turun. Tapi while we were going down, it's kinda scary juga sebab rasa tak selamat. Nak pegang phone nak record scenery pun rasa macam "uhhhmmm" but I recorded a few anyways.

Masa nak turun dari lifting machine tu yang agak menakutkan sebab like I said, we were wearing all these skiing attire which is making it even HARDER to control ourselves. Sudahlah nak turun tu, kitaorang kena angkat besi yang lindung kita dari terjatuh dari lifting machine. Bayangkan pegang tongkat skii, phone etc, susahlah nak angkat guna tangan. Jadi, kitaorang pun menjeritlah, "help, help". Tapi orang Korean tu mungkin tak faham apa kitaorang cakap (husnudzon ya -..-), dia tak tolong angkat besi tu pun, tapi jerit "your pants, your pants". Rupa-rupanya seluar Aisyah tersangkut kat lifting machine. Ah sudah. Dah nak dekat dekat dengan ground barulah diaorang tolong angkatkan besi, itu pun kitaorang terpaksa melompat, terjatuh dan tersakiti oleh Korean oppa. Hshshs.

As we reached down, there was this one slope (not really that steep, but still STEEP ok for beginners) we have to slide down. While we were both sliding down, together, we collided with each other. Bayangkan bergerak dengan laju dan terlanggar. Mashallah. It doesn't hurt but our stick and board were flying to places. Tiba tiba my board dekat atas, the stick was down there somewhere and I was in the middle. I literally had to climb my way up to take the board and wiggle ourselves down. It's difficult to have to move on ice. The helm wasn't helping at all. Dahlah stuck in the middle of the slope, you imagine. It was humiliating but somehow fun. Hahaha. Then, we just wiggled through the rest of the slope cause we were scared and late to the next destination.

happy cos I get to cross one list of my bucket list!

I thought that I would just dump photos, but it seems like I don't have enough photos to dump and I wrote longer than I should. So maybe the continuation to my second day in Seoul will be up in the next post because now, I need to shower!!!

Lots of Love, Nurzafira Sabrina.

A pile of huge mess

In case you didn't know, Malaysia is going through full movement control order (fmco) 3.0 right now. It has been going on for almost a month, yet I doubt we will seen any light at the end of the tunnel anytime soon. It is frustrating because I am restricted from doing things I want and I should do in the last one month. I tried to be as productive as I was back in fmco 1.0 but failed miserably. So here I am trying to be productive again after being a sloth for a whole one month (yup, my June is wasted!).

Breaking news: I have completed my pupillage and now remained unemployed. I don't know how long I am going to be unemployed but the anxiety is kickin' in already... I have to find work as soon as possible but right now?? I haven't even filed my chambering papers yet. To be honest, my life is a pile of huge mess and I am trying (so hard) to clean up em' up (not easy as I procrastinate on a lot of things).

I don't even know if I want to continue being a lawyer and if I do which paths are the best for me? I haven't decided and to be frank, I don't know if law is for me. But if it's not law, then what???? I only have a law degree and couldn't afford to do a double degree now that I am an adult, financially independent but also broke.

How I wish I can push the fast-forward button in my life so I would know what I should do and shouldn't do - but sigh. This is what adulting feels like I guess. Confusing. Alright. I guess that's that. A small update about what's happening in my life. There are more to it but I can't seem to dump everything in a post. If I did that, you guys will see just how messy and tangled things are and prolly regret reading this blog.

I hope my life wouldn't be as dark as Malaysia's future (seriously guys, read the news but I better not elaborate). I hope there will still be light at the end of the tunnel. Inshallah. Aamiin.

Lots of Love, Nurzafira Sabrina.

before the curtain falls

 Despite the pandemic, I've got to say that 2020 has been an amazing year thus far and here's why;

1. Seoul, Korea.

The pandemic was just about to start when Aisyah and I decided to travel to Korea. We planned everything in less than a month (after finals to be precise) and voila, Annyeonghaseyo Korea! It wasn't easy persuading my parents to let me go, but the process was really worth it. The best part is that both Aisyah and I have never traveled on our own before and that made the trip even more adventurous.  We got to experience Winter, played with the snow, went skiing, explored Nami Island, random late nights trip to local stores, skincare shopping, and many more. On our last day in Seoul, we actually used the public transport to discover some places on our own.

2. Losses weight

During the lockdown, I have been following @soiamjenn on Instagram where she would post her everyday workout routine and I was inspired to do the same. I committed to Chloe Ting's 2 weeks shred program and Tabata exercises for one month (during Ramadan) before changing to Intermittent fasting because I was too busy with school. As a result, tadaaa,

Before MCO weight: 54 kgs.

After MCO weight: 47 kgs.

3. Graduate LL.B (Hons)

The final semester was rough because everything's online. We attended classes, tutorials, and conducted group meetings online because of MCO. Some days we would stay up until 3-4 a.m. to complete our assignments. The only good thing about online learning is that our exams are conducted online and we are allowed to refer to notes and books which is h e a v e n.

Online learning burnt me out honestly. Some days I can barely open my eyes and attend classes even though I am just few steps away from my laptop. Sometimes, I even forget I have a class i.e. there was this one day, I was waiting for my parcel to arrive that I completely forgot I have a Bankruptcy lecture. Lucky for me it was just a one-time thing, otherwise... RIP my final semester.

Anyways, happy to tell I got through the sleepless nights and the burn out(s) and graduated from law school on July 2020. This feels really surreal. I remember writing about getting an offer to pursue pre-law and shared bits of my journey as a law student at UM law school here. It reminded me of all the things I have to go through to make this possible, and for that I want to thank myself for not giving up.

4. Went on an Island trip at Pulau Tioman

This was the most random and last minute trip! I remember doing grocery shopping with Dania when I received a text message from Nabila asking if I am free to go to Pulau Tioman the next morning. Gathered my courage to ask for my dad's permission and lucky I was, my application was approved. I got to unwind a little after went to one interview for Chambering (lol @ me). Also get to cross off one thing of my bucket list... oh wait, two actually! 1. Holiday at an Island, 2. Tried snorkeling for the first time!

5. Started my Chambering

Right after I got back from Pulau Tioman, I received a phone call from a firm informing me that my Chambering application was successful, Alhamdulillah.  I have been doing Chambering for almost 2 months now. I was really blessed to be guided by supportive and helpful master and associate. I mean, they taught me from the littlest thing a Chambee should know; from writing letters and handling files to drafting Statement of Claims, Notice of Application and Affidavits for some cases. (More on this later, inshallah?)

6. Soulmate?

Probably the highlight of my 2020- I found my long lost soulmate that I have been looking for 23 years of my life. Whom would have thought I would be meeting someone who sees all my imperfection in the most perfect way possible and for that I am truly grateful for his presence in my life. Let's just pray that this relationship will go a long way. <3

--

I have been feeling somewhat overwhelmed these past few days that even when I had the privileged to be working from home, I thought of it as a bad thing. I tell myself that I probably need to do a bit of a reflection, and here goes a long list why 2020 has been amazing thus far. I mean, yes, the pandemic has gotten in the way of what could be a much more spectacular year but things happened, and for now we could only make the best out of everything we have. Maybe to some, it really has been a bad year- some people losses their income, some people has to go back to zero but I want to look at 2020 as a year which opens a lot of opportunities for me to grow as an Adult. I did a lot of new things, I discovered new places, made new friends, and fall in love; what could be worse, ay?

We are left with two months before 2020 made its way. Most people probably don't even want to remember we ever live through this time, but I wouldn't want to forget what it has brought me; love, happiness and most important of all, contentment. Therefore, I would just want to keep on making more and more memories before the curtain falls.

Lots of Love, Nurzafira Sabrina.

Online class, you ok?

Hello peeps! I have not kept my promise to update my blog regularly. In fact there is only ONE post about my Korea trip. Very disappointing. I'll try to catch up later okay! (:

Anyways I'm back because I want to update about my online class. By now everyone probably know that all university students were instructed to resume classes online. There's no exception for the final year so- Honestly, online class sucks but that's the only platform available before everything goes back to normal. Students need to catch up with syllabus, final years need to graduate *coughs, coughs* so whether or not we like it, we don't really have a choice.

It's really sad to go through this pandemic situation while you are on final semester of degree. This indicates that there will be no more attending physical class, no more hugs from your friends (reassuring you that life would be ok despite the workload), no more our usual lunch at KK1 or KK11, no more meetings at the library (which reminded me of the newly installed lift that I only used for one semester), no more karipaps at kiosk, no more waiting at the lobby, no more Makcik cafe for good hot choc, no more sembang sembang tepi jalan, no more sitting at the bench waiting for class, and the list goes on and on.

Although sometimes I think of this situation as a blessing, I couldn't help thinking that it could have been better if I could cherish my final semester with my friends. But it is what it is.

How have I been coping with online class, you ask???
BAD BAD. Is it surprising if I told you that there are days when I would just open my Microsoft teams and sleep while the lecture is still on-going. Thank God we could record the lectures but even so I never really take the time to listen to them. Frankly speaking, I slacked off real bad during online class, especially during the first two months and I'm not proud of it. I have trouble sleeping at night trying to finish off my assignment and when the day comes,... I just uh, I NEED SLEEP to function ok!!

But then it hits me that this could be my last time as a student and it wouldn't do me any harm if I could sacrifice my sleep and attend classes. After all, I would be the one at loss if I'm not paying attention and take my classes seriously. So I started to journal again, make a to-do list, record myself in classes (trying to make a video about online classes here but-) to keep myself on the ground. It has been good so far. I presented in Insolvency tutorial after a while!!!! Did two of my presentation  a week earlier than I was supposed to present them (please make du'a for me). Also my drafting test was a-ok inshallah (we have the test yesterday). I am trying to keep up with my lecture recording so please~ *begging to myself* please for once, try to commit!!!

Am I worried about the future???
ALL THE TIME. but that's for future me to figure out. I wish her all the best T.T

I think this is it for now??? I'll try to catch up with my writing again (trying to not make any promises here because I know I'll disappoint hekhek).

See you guys!
Bye.

RMO Day 23 | Little things in life

Salam Nifsu Sya'ban everyone!

Can you believe it's already 23rd day of RMO already? There are many things to be grateful for despite being the lock down. Hence, for today's post I'm planning on writing down the good things that happened throughout the RMO.

1) Do all the things I do not want to do.

There are abundance of things I didn't want to do earlier this year.

Before RMO: First, I didn't want to go jogging (I know right... what a resolution!!!). I purposely left my sports shoes at home because I thought I wouldn't have the time to jog. My schedule for the last two semesters was so packed! I have classes early in the morning and my day usually ended at 6/7 p.m. By the time my class ended, I was too fatigue to exercise (our academic calendar is a no joke!). Plus, this is the one year I got to be inactive. It was my last year in college, so I decided to take a break from all sort of college's activities. I thought that maybe I should use this time to focus on my study. duh. What was I thinking?

After RMO: Good news is during this RMO I tried to work out as frequently as possible so I wouldn't feel sluggish/demotivated!

Before RMO: The next thing that I also don't feel like doing earlier this year is journal. I bought planner almost every year because I really enjoy writing. My journal is like my diary. But nu-uh not this year. I no longer write or update my plans. The January and February sections were almost as good as nothing (even though I have a lot of things going on...) I just don't feel like doing it, you get me?!

After RMO: I planned my days almost EVERY SINGLE DAY though my days were pretty much the same. I even decorate it with some stickers so it could look more interesting and fancy. Something I don't do. Glad I bought all the stickers, they finally served their purpose in life.

-

Before RMO: Remember back in high school days when all you want to do is reading novels?! Screw those homework! I just want to finish the 500 pages of novel in one day cause I CAN. Yeah, those were the days. Well, bad news guys. I can't do that anymore. I remember a friend once told me that the after effects of reading law is you will not love reading as much as you did anymore. Couldn't agree more!

After RMO: I have completed reading 3 books. I made it a habit to update my goodreads too so I could keep up with the books I'm reading.

2) Self-reflect

RMO made me ponder a lot of things. Every night I would just take a moment to self-reflect everything I did and see how I can improve myself in any ways possible. Every time I feel like I need to work on something, I would just journal them out and do it the next day. I also make this one section of 'self-reflect' in my journal. It's easier to track my progress that way. Hehe.

3) Start writing again!

I know right... I only have 2 posts in 2019 lol. Not this year! It's not even December, but I already have 4 posts + 1 including this one. Do people even write on blog these days? I doubt it. With the existence of twitter and Instagram, I don't think people would resort to blog anymore. It's so much easier to update life through instastories and tweet it out. Nonetheless, I would always have a soft spot for this blogging site. I have been here since 2013, good lord. Never deleting this account. Ever.

Speaking of writing, I should update my trip to Korea!!!

4) Be Productive.

Since I have a more regular routine, it makes my life more productive. Even more productive than my normal ones.

5) No Makeups!

Yup I let my face to take a breather this time.

The end to this Restriction Movement Order is still uncertain but it's for the better. Let's break the chain of covid 19 so we could welcome Ramadhan and Syawal peacefully. Also let's not forget to count the little little things we did in life as blessings.

SOOoo I guess that is all from me. I have discussion for my assignment at 11 and I really just wanna be done with it.

Signing off,
Nurzafira Sabrina.

Street Law Program (Outbound) | Depok, Indonesia

Assalamualaikum guys!!

Here's an update for my RMO day 20! Alhamdulillah I manage to wake up quite early today and helped my mom in the kitchen while she attended a meeting online #workingfromhome. Also, I decided to do a 20 minutes of Yoga Weight Loss for my working out routine today! Keep that body moving peeps!

By the way, you guys know about this Instagram feature where it reminded you of the memories that happened years and years ago right? I almost forgot that on April 2017, I participated in a Street-Law Program for my outbound participation (just so you know, in UM Law school, it is MANDATORY for all students to participate in an outbound program). I was so lucky I was given the chance to be a part of it when I was in my first year, second semester. I really miss the time there. I made a lot of new friends, not just the one we met at Indonesia, but I also get to bond with some of my seniors in Law School. I swear I wanted to write about my trip to Universitas Indonesia (or people called it- uuu-eee) as soon as it ended but I was so occupied with school. So I want to remedy that by spamming some pictures for keepsake memories.

Before that I would like to just briefly explained what a Street-Law Program is; the objective of this program is to educate people on the awareness of human rights, civil rights etc.We went to many different places in Indonesia such as Rumah Pertahanan Wanita (can't remember what it's called, but it was like a detention place for women) and schools like SBJK... it's so frustrating because I can't remember the exact name of the places we went to while we were there. Anyways, what we did is we taught these women and children about their rights.

The UI students fetched us at the airport, hee, how sweet!

If I'm not mistaken this was our second day here.

I remember taking A LOT of pictures by using kak Syasya's phone (which was oppo btw! the quality was so good!!!) and posted the pictures the same night because I was obsessed with...not sure myself or the place. Haha.

UM ft. UI

I have a very serious question, what happened to me now? I looked pretty decent back in those "innocent" days.

This was when we conducted a Mock Trial and I became a judge.

While waiting for kereta.... cause that's what they called keretapi there.

If there's anything I treasure so much from this trip it would be the people! You have no idea how welcoming and kind Indonesians are! I remember Irvan belanja me KFC for my lunch because I had spent all my money on shopping (blaming my impulsive self!!). and you know what's funny? Later I figured out that I still have 50,000 rupiah which I kept at the back of my phone's cover. Adoi. I also remember that this one night we went to this one restaurant for desserts and there was this one busker entertained us with his angelic voice. Sedap gila suara dia. I tak tau nak describe macam mana. But remember asking him to sing Dia by Anji because I was hooked to that song. Mana taknya, setiap pagi the hotel we stayed in would play the song and Virgoun's surat cinta untuk Starla. Tell you what, the song wasn't even as famous as it is right now!!!

DID I also tell you how good their foods are?????

Besides the good foods, and company, I also enjoy the program very much. I got to learn Indonesian law, read their Federal Constitution, and exchange views on Malaysia and Indonesia education system. The best part of program is to be able to reach out to the unprivileged people and educate them about their rights. It is actually sad to know that some of them don't even know basic rights. And to just hear their stories about life, oh lord you have no idea how strong these people actually are.

Writing this makes me miss Indonesia so much!!! I hope my Indonesian friends are doing well. Most of them have already graduated and are now working their dream jobs. Ah~ This is why we should cherish Instagram- for reminding us of old memories is one thing, but to also connect people from all around the world, that is just amazing!!!

Until next time guys!

Cheers,
Nurzafira Sabrina

RMO Day 19

I wonder how's everyone coping with RMO?! We have a week left guys before it's over. I really hope it wouldn't get extended.

One of the main reasons I find it difficult to survive RMO is because I sleep late and I sleep A LOT. I am having trouble fixing my sleeping pattern. I can only hit the sack at 3 a.m. and the next morning, I either wake up early and spent the rest of the afternoon sleeping, or wake up super late that I have anxiety of going downstairs because I don't help in the kitchen. Haha. But for real guys. For real.

I tried to make some plans for my day every night before I go to bed. I am not restricting myself to time, but there are "things" that I must do every single day i.e. I have to read, work out, and do my assignment (yup, I have three assignments already T_T). Nevertheless, it's hard to keep up with your routine when you do not start your morning right. Sometimes I feel sluggish and demotivated that it's easy for me to just abandon my plans and just binge watching Brooklyn 99 on Netflix or sleep again. I resorted to these two options because 1) it doesn't require a lot of thinking; 2)  it's the laziest thing we could do as of now.

BUT I don't want to do that ALL THE TIME. Sure, it's fun not having commitments (slap me as I said this because I have tons of them, I'm just living in denial) but there are times when I feel so overwhelmed. I have been doing a lot of thinking these days especially about my future. I was so worried whether or not I can graduate this year. People have been saying things like we should just postpone this semester and to be very honest with you, I don't think I can do that. Then, I started thinking about my Chambering. I'm worried if it's possible for me to score a decent place to chamber at after all this ends. With my CGPA and the current situation of our economy-- can I? It's scary to know that our country is going through a serious recession and it's affecting a lot of companies in Malaysia.

Tell you what my friend, the more I spend time lazying around, the more overwhelmed and useless I feel. So I decided to plan for my days and stalked some influencers online to get some inspiration to design my day (I did this because I think at this point of time, influencers are very helpful especially those who come out with practical & positive contents). That's when I met @soimjenn's instagram. I adore her because she shared with her viewers her fair share of struggles during this RMO and some tips to overcome it.

During one of her instagram's live session, she shared tips on "how to design your day" and I want to share it here:

1) Something I don't want to do
 - Help mom in the kitchen/cooking
2) Something I love to do
- at this point, being online???
- or reading/writing
3) Something to learn
- new skills such as cooking perhaps.
- need to brush up my knitting skills or I could probably start learning crochet!!
4) Something that makes me laugh
- Brooklyn 99 ftw! (often we forget that laughing is the best medicine)
5) Something inevitable
 - assignments
- eat, take a shower, skincare routines, keeping my room clean and organized.

There you go. I know it's not easy to keep up with routine, so I decided not to restrict myself to the schedule. Sometimes I would just scribble down the things I want to do tomorrow and do it whenever I feel like doing it. The key here is consistency. You just do it, every single day. Until it becomes a part of you.

Here's to many more days of RMO and surviving it!

Cheers,
Nurzafira Sabrina.

Duo Travel | Day 1 | Seoul, Korea.

If there's anything I thought I would never be able to do AT MY AGE now it would be travelling. I mean, my parents have always been generous for sponsoring every belajar sambil berjalan trip I've had in my life. Proof- I went to Singapore when I was 17 under a school's trip and Indonesia in my first year of degree for a Street-law programmed. I blogged about my Singapore trip but didn't for Indonesia (regrets!) I'm not repeating silly mistakes, so here's one for y'all.

MY VACATION TO SEOUL, KOREA

Oh lord. Can you believe it? After convincing my parents that I will be tots fine travelling with a friend, they finally let me. Travel. on. my. own!!! Alhamdulillah, the whole process went really smooth for Aisyah and I even though we planned this trip in less than a month (as soon as finals over). We looked out for dates, and then a travel agent because parents just wouldn't let their girls go to a foreign countries alone. (danger alerts!) We were lucky enough because we found one travel agent with an affordable price.  It was an all in package so they bought us the flight tickets and entrance fees. The travel agent also arranged our accommodation and transportation which makes our lives super easy.

Uhm, the first thing that y'all should know is that we went there on February and it was winter season. Both Aisyah and I have never traveled in winter season so we really be preparing ourselves for the weather there. I was honestly, very scared I would get sick, but I didn't which was amazing! Alhamdulillah. Anyways, there are actually a lot of money spent because I didn't have a proper winter outfit. I also don't have knitted wear so yeah- we go buy them. Luckily, my mom has some of the stuffs needed so I got to save some $$.

This was me when arrived at KLIA. Was very much in awe with the fact that we are *doing* it.

After we arrived at Incheon Airport, we immediately took out our winter wear, cleaned and changed ourselves. Almost 7 hours in the flight,... Buruk wei. haha. Then, we met our travel agent and we took an airport bus to go to our home-stay called the Bong House. We were given a few hours of rest before our sight-seeing starts. The first place we went to was Namsangol Hanok Village,

It basically a place consists of five hanok (traditional Korean houses) from old times.

After taking loads of pictures with the Korean houses there, we went to Namsan Tower.

Y'all familiar with this place? It's a must to go here but somehow as a single person, I don't find all these locks interesting. Maybe because I can't lock my name with a person name as a symbol of love(?) So instead of locking names, we took more pictures of ourselves.

The view was magnificent! Mashallah.

One with Namsan Tower.

Later at night, we went to Myeondong and tasted some of the street foods there.

We also bought a lot of heat packs from their Daiso because it was so so so cold. The Temperature hits -14 and for summer girls, we were freezing cold!! We also wandered around the area we stayed in. Bought their famous milk and visited their groceries shop for fun.

Here are raw pictures of me wandering in a foreign country doing god knows what.

Peace out.
I'll continue with day 2 soon.

Lots of Love, Nurzafira Sabrina

Thoughts on RMO

Alright I'm losing it y'all.

For your information, today's *lost count the number of days already* of Restriction Movement Order (hereinafter would be referred to as RMO).

What is RMO?
You can google it for a more accurate answer. I would describe it as an impartial lock down which all Malaysians (and some other countries) had to go through due to Covid-19 outbreak which happened in late 2019.

What is Covid-19?
It is basically a newly found deadly virus started in Wuhan.

Many was infected by this virus and it has caused a number of dead cases. Currently we have 2,320 cases going on. Hence, our "new" government decided to give out this order whereby everyone is not allowed to go out of their houses, unless of course if they want to buy basic needs (i.e. foods and groceries ONLY). In addition to it, only one person can go out and buy stuff per family. Imagine what life has been like in 2020?

I know right...

Surprising isn't it? In the beginning of the year everyone's talking about flying vehicles and now, what we've gotten is a deadly virus that could attack anyone at any moment. But there are still irresponsible people *coughs, Mont Kiara joggers, coughs* who go out for jogging. Sighs. Even elites people can be so ignorant sometimes eh?

Anyways, how are you guys coping with this situation honestly? I'm losing it. It has been two weeks since I last leave my house. I have been doing everything- reading, working out, binge-watching movies/series on Netflix, videos editing, cleaning and organizing the house... you name it! I even installed tiktok, guys, I mean uh ._.V

What's more frustrating is the idea of how my final year would be like? We will be having e-learning for all subjects and mind you, some of the subjects we are taking are practical wise. So it's going to make the learning process difficult. We have this one subject called Advocacy and I am really sad, my group acting as the plaintiff didn't get to cross examine defendant's witness. I mean, we been waiting for the moment since last semester *cause that's when you roast them hehe*.  Also I don't think I work best in e-learning classes? I get distracted a lot especially when I'm home. Now that I think of it again, I work really productively when I'm college. At home,.... I have no words to describe how "lazy" and "inefficient" I am as a student.

But oh well. With things going on, I guess I just have to cope with it. This is also to help ease the university with my graduating process so- gotta learn how to adapt to it.

On the bright sides, this whole RMO and coronavirus going on, I've got so much times to myself. I mean, you have no idea, how free I am right now. I have all 24 hours to myself and if I can't get THINGS done then I should really question my existence in this world. Therefore, I have decided to update my blog frequently from now on. Also share with you guys the updates of my life earlier this year (surprise, surprise).

People barely read these days, but this blog has been really really helpful in keeping my memories for myself. I am so grateful I keep this blog because sometimes I just come here to see the things I have done in the past and be glad I did what I did. So this blog shouldn't be abandon for too long. But I also want this place to fill with positive vibes, motivation and inspiration. I hope I can do that instead of complaining endlessly about life (even though it's good to be reminded of the struggles you have to go through in order to be where you are in your life at the moment).

Lots of Love,
Nurzafira Sabrina.

While I was typing this, I was sitting at the bench in law faculty. It was a bright sunny day. The sky was clear. I know I'm going to miss this scenery once I've completed my study. That would be in less than a year!

Final year got me thinking about a lot of stuffs. Especially my future. What would happen after I graduate? Where will I be in 5 years? Will law still be my passion (wait, is it even my passion now?). Jokes aside. Final year made me overthink! At 10.00 a.m. today, I just finished my Advocacy trials. This was my first time representing the plaintiff as the lead counsel. I volunteered myself. I wanted to feel what it is to answer to a judge. Because all this while, I was just avoiding myself from this huge responsibility.

Of course, many things happened this semester which caught me thinking about my performance, my insecurities, my capabilities as a law student. I always felt like I wasn't enough. I wasn't as excellence as the other students. I didn't shine as bright as other students in this faculty. Often, I question if reading law is really what I've always wanted to do. It's scary once I'm consumed with such thoughts. But then again, it always bothered me. Always.

Today, when the judge commented on my performance on the re-examination; once again I was slapped with a pang of disappointment. I spent all night trying to construct 'wise' questions. All I want is some compliment from the judge evaluating me. But today, all I received was comments on how I overdo the re-examination of plaintiff witness. I feel down. But this time, I am aware that I couldn't seek reassurance from my cliques. I tried but they were busy. They have their own business to mind. So I was left alone. Here. Right now. Writing this.

I know I couldn't depend on people forever to reassure me, but their words of encouragement and their mere presence, calm me from these horrendous thoughts I've on myself. Talking, sharing thoughts made me calm. But then again, at this peak of time, no one is able to spare some of their time for you.

Anyways, even after I've let go of my commitments, my drafting's individual assignment was still below average, I still didn't study hard enough to understand the concept for power of PP that I failed the test last week. God knows, what else I've failed to do. The exam hasn't even started yet, but the thoughts of results scare me. Am I that bad as a law student?

If I tell anyone at all what I've written here; people will tell me that this is a learning process.  I have so much to learn and I shouldn't stop just because someone criticize my work. The lecturer do that to help us improve. And for as long as I am a student, there will be a lot of room for improvement. NOTED THANK YOU.

It's just one of the days I question my "worthiness"as a law student. I want to do my Chambering at a well-known, established law firms too. But I'm afraid my performance wasn't up to their level. Here I am, doing everything at the very bare minimum. I've to stop writing now. My time's up. I've to attend CP tutorial.

Till next time!

DPP to be?

Day 10 of Internship at AGC

We were placed under unit 3 of the Prosecution Department; Sexual Crimes and Domestic Violence. Today's a little special as we got the chance to go to the court of children in Putrajaya and also visited the room where the children testified in court. It's very conducive just like how Dr Farah always described it in our Child Law lecture. After that we were briefed of the tasks done by the DPP in Unit 3, can't help but find everything we discussed interesting.

Anyways, I'm really considering to join service once I graduated.

Future's still blurry to be honest but I need to plan anyways. So here's one.

study week & worries

My body ache so bad last night so I decided to sleep early. I woke up feeling shitty and worried. I'm worried because there are still a lot of chapters I have yet to cover and I saw a friend of mine tweeted she had covered most of the subjects and only a few left. I took a deep breathe and constantly checked my phone - I don't know why but I tend to do that every time I feel restless. Maybe I was searching for assurance that hey you are not that slow.

I was going through my Islamic Criminal Law slides when at the end of the slides, Ustaz put a saying by Confucious "no matter how slow you are, don't stop" and all of sudden, there's this feeling of comfort. The kind of assurance that I needed the most, came in just at the right time.

I know there are times when we have worked so hard, write so much notes, read a lot of books, but it still doesn't feel enough and it seems like someone out there has always done more than we do. But please, don't make it a reason for us to quit studying. Remind our own self that a progress is still a progress regardless of our 'slow' phase. Be glad that we are still moving instead of stopping.

I'm trying not to beat myself for taking longer rest than I needed yesterday. I'm still trying to forgive myself for stopping at a subject because I think it has too much topics to cover. And looking at the words of motivation, I feel at ease a bit. Of course, I shouldn't give up too early after this! #lessonlearnt.

Please make du'a I could at least cover as much as topics before exam days.

Lots of Love, Nurzafira Sabrina.

study week, Aina & uniride

Decided to spend the first week of my study week in UM instead of home (sobs sobs). God knows the struggles to survive here when everyone else went home. College is so dead, even the cafe and printing shop are temporarily close in my college. It's so frustrating but I was lucky enough to have Aina as my roommate.

Yesterday, since cafe's closed, Aina and I decided to make use of the uniride (well, she always used it, unlike me) to buy our lunch and dinner. Riding uniride is an extreme sport, at night especially because I'm constantly worried if drivers are aware of my existence on the road. There's this one time when I was in my college area when there's this taxi coming in the opposite direction and I noisily said, "Careful, careful I'm here, you have to see me!!!" when he actually opened up his car's window and said, "Lampu depan tak ada!!" and I shouted back, "Ha'ah, tahu pun!!" Oh lord. Why am I like that haha. I was also worried if I'm too slow that it disturbs other road users but thinking of it again, I have my rights on the  road as well. If not, the University wouldn't be bothered to provide uniride as one of students' facilities.

ANYWAYS, IT WAS FUN.

I have been confining myself in room for days actually!! Surrounded myself with notes because kid you not, 7 subjects are a lot to cover. I'm always panicking if I don't have enough time to cover all of them during study week. But once in a while, a break to fresh air is very much needed. And riding uniride when the university is empty helps a lot!

By the way, Merry Christmas to those who celebrate (wondering where's my Santa at stressful times like this) and a happy new year to all. Good luck with finals and if you are stressed out, you should probably try riding uniride too! :P

Till then.

Lots of Love, Nurzafira Sabrina.

Tolong Jangan Gelak

Tolong jangan gelak,
Jangan gelak bila aku bercerita
Bukan tagih simpati
Cuma perlu teman berbicara
Tahukah kau
Wujudnya manusia
Yang mempunyai timbunan rasa risau tentang dirinya?

Tolong jangan gelak,
Jangan gelak bila aku bercerita
Bukan aku harap agar kau percaya
Cuma tahukah kau
Setiap orang itu berbeza
Ada kadang kasih tak terasa?

Tolong jangan gelak,
Jangan gelak bila aku bercerita
Jadilah orang pendengar setia
Kadang kau tak tahu apa guna
Rasa puas punya tempat luah rasa

Tolong jangan gelak,
Jangan gelak bila aku bercerita
Kadang kau tak cakna keadaan semasa
Harap tak hilang orang di depan mata.

tough cookies!

HELLO

Sorry for being away for months! Life was hectic and in case you didn't know, I'm already in my third year (yeah I know right, time flies so fast!) So, who is excited for life updates? (ME obviously tee-hee)

Anyways, it's already week 10 and I guess of all weeks, my week 8 was the busiest week ever. I had two tests, two presentations (one was a surprised one), 20 pages long of assignments. Then all of sudden, I was down with flu throughout the week. You literally have no idea. God, I'm so glad it's over. I swear I was moody for the whole week until my friends told me "you look happier now that you've sent your assignments, kalau tak muka kerut je". Ah, pardon my inevitable face expression, my friends. I love you all regardless x.

To be honest, the reason I'm blogging again is because I want to share some "life lessons" I've learnt throughout this semester. I have been so occupied with stuffs that I notice that it's so hard to keep yourself positive at all times. I put on my moody face 24/7 throughout the week because I was stressed, I said no to most of things, I complained about a lot of things and I treated some of my colleagues in a bad way (god bless them) just because I think they don't understand what I'm going through. ok someone please slap the Zafira in week 8, sighs that woman.

But seriously tho. Week 8 was the week I discover a lot of negative things in me (ok maybe I was living in denial this whole time but bij this time was different). So that's when I decided to do some reflection... and come out with two important life lessons (which I have taken for granted all this time ehe).

1. DON'T BE A COMPLAINER

The number of times I complaints was... Mashallah. I complained about almost everything that happened in my life, "why do we have a lot of tests", "kenapa page limit 20 pages, that's a looot :(", "can I just skip all classes today", "kenapa mesti ada meeting at times like this" and more!!

You see, the thing about complaining is that you only focus on the negative sides of everything. It makes you look weak in front of other people cause people probably would have the thought "eh budak ni asyik complain je, tapi kerja tak jalan, balik bilik tidur, kelas skip". My senior once said to me, "no matter what you are going through, there is a light at the end of the tunnel". There's no used of complaining, let's just focus on getting the job done and give your 101%!

Plus, whatever you get yourself into, you are the one who puts yourself in that situation. You have options and you choose to do it. Remind yourself that it is amanah Allah so you are obliged to get it done without complaining too much. Because at the end of the day, it's your choice. Your choice.

2. BE CONSIDERATE

We are humans and we make mistakes. I know how much we hate people who don't give us the chance to justify ourselves when we make mistakes, so let's not do it to other people. Life is not about you alone. You live in a society and you have to consider other people's situations before you jump into conclusion. If you are not satisfied with someone, you could probably stop and look at things from that person's perspective.

Sebab bukan kau sahaja pelajar dalam dunia ini. Bukan kau sorang saja busy, ada assignments, tutorials, tests, presentation. They have too. It's just that they decided not to burden your thoughts with their problems.

Anyways, you get the point. Life is not all about rainbow and sunshine. There will of course be some downsides to it. You will breakdown, make faces, annoyed with humans simply because they exist, cry, feel sick of everything, but hey tough time don't last, tough people do!!

And you are one of the tough cookies!!!

I always think that no matter what happened, I will get the job done. I have to. That somehow make things a lot bearable. Oh, I forgot to tell that my laptop had some screen problem and it can't be used as we are reaching week 8. I was so worried because I literally can't live without my laptop. I have tutorials which I haven't done, assignment I barely started, presentations (I changed my topic last minute, oh lord) and notes I haven't printed out. God bless my parents for being so understanding, they came all the way from Bangi to send me my mom's laptop while mine got repaired. Alhamdulillah.

Ah, God is Gracious, most Merciful. It feels surreal that all these happened 3 weeks ago. After week 8, I had the best mid sem break ever. I spent quality times with my family and do some catching up with my siblings. All these - 3 weeks ago, that day I don't even think I will survive the week. But I did. That's the best part of it.

All of your struggles, it will pass. I promise

Stay strong, you can do this! ;)

and here's to a more positive Nurzafira Sabrina in the future, ganbatte!

Lots of Love, Nurzafira Sabrina.

future, whats up

D-idk.

It wasn't a good day at work that day but I decided to ditch my evening nap and went downstairs instead.

"Ira rasa macam nak buat Master"  I said to my dad.

Trust me. I was also very surprised with what I said.

Anyways, if you are on twitter, you probably would encounter tweets like this,
"by 22, I would have my own car.
24 - a house
25 - get married"
etc

The kind of tweets that give me anxiety. The kind of tweets that made me wonder if I'm on the right track, if whatever it is that I'm doing is right. When I read these kind of tweets, I wonder how on earth at the age of 22 they already have their own car when me on the other hand, pray all day and night to be accepted by college so I wouldn't have to go to lectures by public transport. Let's not talk about house here... I can't even afford a second hand car!

Frankly speaking, I was so worried when I saw that kind of tweets on my timeline. It gave me pressure. As if I was competing. Life became what-can-you-achieve-before-you-turned-30. But then it hits me. That's not how life's supposed to be. There's more than that. It's whether or not you enjoy the journey in order to get to the destination. It's about you being happy with what you are doing. It's not, and will never be a race.

It's okay if you still go to places with public transport just because you can't afford a car. It's okay if you get married in your late 30s. Or if you still haven't found your dream job when everyone else has settle down. It's okay. Take your time and enjoy your journey. Life would be boring if everyone shares the same story line. So make yours a different one. Make it memorable, at least to yourself.

Lagipun rezeki orang lain lain.

I believe that we all work so hard to achieve what we want and inshallah, Allah will grant our wishes when He thinks is right/when we are ready. I know at some point we will feel down and disappointed for not reaching people's expectation. It's okay to be not okay but don't forget to pull yourself up afterwards okay? Tough time don't last but tough people do!!

As for now, I'll try to finish my degree with flying color (coughs first class honor seems impossible by now coughs), complete 9 months of Chambering, get myself a stable job before I could simpan duit for cars and house. I'll definitely reconsider doing Master tee-hee.

BY THE WAY,

Guess what did my dad ask when I was telling him my future plan????

"Bila kau plan nak kahwin?"

.....
..
...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Bila ada jodoh. lol

Till then,

Lots of love, Nurzafira Sabrina.
